GREG ALFONZETTI

Greg Alfonzetti is one of the most experienced and respected exponents of flamenco guitar and associated musical work in Australia. He began his flamenco path in earnest in the 1980's when he lived and studied in Sevilla, in the heart of Andalusia, Spain, the epicentre and origin of the flamenco art form, with such great guitarists as Pedro Bacan and Carlos Heredia.

In Australia he collaborated and worked with many great artists, including flamenco dancers Antonio Vargas and Diana Reyes and more recently Chachy Penalver and visiting guitarists from Spain such as Felipe Maya and Jose Luis Monton.

 He is the founding member of and principal composer for the Arrebato Ensemble, which has released three albums of work to critical acclaim including Aria and Limelight award nominations and which has also performed in major concert series and music festivals such as the Australian International Festival of Chamber Music, the Utzon Music Series at Sydney Opera House, Womadelaide, Sydney Festival, Bellingen and Appollo Bay.

Kieren Ray

Kieren Ray is a guitarist who received his classical and jazz guitar education at the Queensland Conservatorium of Music. Later, he went to Spain to study flamenco guitar under the guidance of renowned performers and teachers in cities like Seville, Madrid, Jerez, and Cordoba. As a flamenco guitarist, Kieren has given solo recitals and played in various ensembles across Australia at major arts festivals and concert halls in metropolitan and regional areas. He also collaborates with some of Australia’s top flamenco performers and international artists who visit the country.
